Mayurbhanj: In a shocking accident in Mayurbhanj, a car rammed into a tollgate booth no. 3, causing the death of the driver while a booth employee narrowly escaped. The accident occurred near Padmanabhapur on National Highway 18 under Baisinga police station of the district.
The deceased has been identified as Rajdeep Pattnayak. He was travelling in his car from Balasore to Betnoti. As per sources, due to speeding the driver lost control leading to this mishap. In a miraculous escape, the tollgate employee who was present in the booth during the crash narrowly escaped without any injuries. Following this accident in Mayurbhanj, the police arrived at the site and began an investigation to determine the exact cause. This tragic event has once again highlighted concern over road safety on national highways.
