75 lakh saplings to be planted under Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 2.0 campaign on PM Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday

 Bhubaneswar: On the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, as many as 75 lakh trees will be planted in Odisha. The Forest department has identified 45,000 lands for the plantation drive under the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 2.0 campaign.

The forest department has provided 500 saplings to the 6,794 Gram Panchayats. In every district, Ministers, MLAs, MPs, Sarpanchs, school teachers, Anganwadi workers will take part in the plantation drive for PM Modi’s 75th birthday.


Last year, 6.67 crore trees were planted in the state, and this year the target is to plant 7.5 crore trees. Out of this, 4.70 crore trees have already been planted, the departmental minister said. Today, the forest department has given a target of planting 9.2 lakh trees.

Out of this, the Horticulture and Soil Conservation Department has planned to plant 2.3 lakh trees, the Industries Department 1.5 lakh trees, and the Forest Department 1.5 lakh trees, the Forest and Environment Minister informed.

Similarly, as many as 50,000 beneficiaries of the Antodaya Griha Yojana (AGY) will be given work orders in Odisha. Panchayati Raj Minister Rabi Narayan Naik informed this on September 4.

As per the information, the state government and the departmental officers had a discussion in this regard.

All the processes will be completed by November. According to the new survey, 35 lakh applications have been received and 3 lakh have been received online.  It is worth mentioning here that the applications received have already been scrutinised. A decision will be reached at the right.
