Rainfall to continue till September 28 in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack

 Bhubaneswar: According to the latest weather forecast, the Bhubaneswar-Cuttack twin city can expect continued rainfall until September 28.


A low pressure has again formed in the Bay of Bengal (BoB). It has formed in the north and adjoining central BoB under the influence of the cyclone. Today, it will take the form of a depression over the south Odisha-north Andhra coast of the northwest and west central Bay of Bengal. It will cross the south Odisha-north Andhra coast by the evening. The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted this.

Due to the influence of the low pressure, heavy rain is likely in various parts of the state till the morning of the 28th including the twin city.

The Regional Meteorological Center has issued an orange warning for Koraput and Malkangiri districts due to the possibility of heavy to very heavy rain today.

Similarly, a yellow warning has been issued for 11 Odisha districts for the possibility of heavy rain.

The District Collector has directed all the officers to be alert in view of the possibility of heavy rain in Ganjam district under the influence of the low pressure. A 24-hour control room has been opened in the district. Fishermen have been prohibited from entering the deep sea.
