New Delhi: In a shocking incident, more than 200 passengers on a Singapore-bound Air India flight were asked to deplane nearly two hours after being seated inside the aircraft due to technical problems. The incident occurred at Delhi airport on Wednesday night.
According to the reports, the flight, AI2380 which was operated with a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner was scheduled to take off around 11 pm. However, after boarding, the air conditioning system and electrical supply of the plane stopped working properly.
This made the cabin very uncomfortable as the temperature rose and there was no proper cooling. Many passengers tried to manage by fanning themselves with in-flight magazines and newspapers.
Even after sitting inside for almost two hours, the crew did not give passengers a clear explanation. Later, all passengers were instructed to deplane and were taken back to the terminal building.
Videos of the situation soon spread on social media showing passengers struggling with the heat inside the aircraft.
As of now, Air India has not released any official statement yet.
