World First Aid Day Celebrated at Government Autonomous College, Phulbani

Phulbani, Odisha – The World First Aid Day was celebrated today at the Government Autonomous College, Phulbani, under the auspices of the Odisha Red Cross State Branch and the Youth Red Cross. The event was presided over by Dr. Subash Chandra Pradhan, the Principal of the college. 

As part of the celebrations, the Youth Red Cross organized a workshop aimed at educating attendees on the vital role of first aid in emergency situations, particularly in the context of climate change. Chief guest Dr. Manjita Mohanty, Associate Professor from the Community Medicine department of the local Government Medical College and Hospital, delivered a key address on the significance of first aid, discussing scenarios such as heat strokes, snake bites, landslides, and floods.
Dr. Mohanty emphasized the importance of providing immediate care before reaching medical facilities, equipping the attending youth volunteers, students, and faculty with essential skills. The college acknowledged Dr. Mohanty for her contributions. 
The program concluded with a vote of thanks by newly appointed Youth Red Cross advisor, Mr. Shankar Dalai. The district Youth Red Cross Officer, along with Associate Professor Dr. Abhipsa Bal, coordinated the successful event.
