Bhubaneswar: Another cyclonic circulation is developing over the Northern Bay of Bengal region. This circulation is not likely to intensify significantly.
However, due to the influence of the cyclone, rain is likely to continue till October 12 in several parts of Odisha. The Meteorological Department has predicted that the effect of rain will be more in coastal Odisha as well as in south Odisha.
Keeping this in mind, rain alerts have been issued for various districts for the next 3 days.
Rain is likely to be experienced in Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Kendrapara, Bhadrak, Jagatsinghpur and Mayurbhanj today. A yellow alert has been issued for rain with lightning today for the entire state.
The department has issued a warning for heavy rain with lightning in Malkangiri, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kalahandi, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Bhadrak and Mayurbhanj.
On the other hand, another low pressure is expected to form in the Bay of Bengal by the October 22. Similarly, the weather is starting to become favorable with the complete withdrawal of the southwest monsoon from the country. The monsoon will depart by the October 16 predict the weathermen.
