Vaishno Devi Yatra resumes after three day halt due to bad weather

Katra: The Vaishno Devi Yatra has been resumed after being suspended for three days because of heavy rainfall and poor weather in the Trikutha Hills.

The shrine board confirmed the news on X and said, “Jai Mata Di, As already communicated, all Yatra registration counters shall remain operational tomorrow, October 8, 2025, from 6:00 AM onwards.”

“Devotees are advised to stay updated through official communication channels for further information,” the announcement added. The announcement has brought relief and happiness among devotees.

Visuals of devotees eagerly waiting outside the registration counter for their turn and chanting “Jai Mata Di” are surfacing on the internet.

However, authorities have advised devotees to remain careful and to check official communication channels for any further updates about the pilgrimage.

Earlier, the Vaishno Devi Yatra was suspended after a landslide on August 26 that killed 34 people and injured several. The disaster struck in the afternoon, around 3 pm, when heavy rains triggered a massive landslide near the Inderprastha Bhojnalaya at Adhkuwari, about halfway along the 12-kilometre trek from Katra to the shrine.
