Bhubaneswar, November 22: All India Congress Committee (AICC) President Mallikarjun Kharge has announced the new national committee of the Rajiv Gandhi Panchayati Raj Sangathan on the recommendation of its National President Dr Sunil Panwar, AICC General Secretary K.C. Venugopal informed the media on Friday.
In a significant recognition, prominent tribal leader from Kandhamal and former Vice-President and Spokesperson of Odisha Pradesh Congress Adivasi Cell, Shri Pratap Kumar Pradhan, has been appointed as the National Convenor of the organisation.
Pradhan has a long and distinguished record in the Congress. He earlier served as President of Youth Congress in G. Udayagiri Assembly constituency and as District President of Kandhamal Rajiv Gandhi Panchayati Raj Sangathan for 10 years. Currently, he is the General Secretary of the Odisha unit of Rajiv Gandhi Panchayati Raj Sangathan.
For 12 consecutive years, Pradhan worked dedicatedly across various states under the guidance of former National President Sushri Meenakshi Natarajan. He is also recognised as one of the frontline youth leaders of Odisha Congress.
Expressing gratitude for his new responsibility, Shri Pradhan thanked National President Dr Sunil Panwar, Maharashtra PCC President Harshvardhan Sapkal, Meenakshi Natarajan, Sachin Rao, and Odisha PCC President Bhakta Charan Das.
He reaffirmed his commitment to discharge his duties with complete dedication under the ideology of Rahul Gandhi and the leadership of AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge.
