Sambalpur: At least ten people were injured after a picnic bus overturned near Kansar under Jujumura police station limits in Sambalpur district, Odisha.
The vehicle was carrying a group from Bhubaneswar to Sambalpur for a picnic when the incident. According to sources, the driver lost control of the bus near Kansar, following which the vehicle climbed onto the road divider and overturned.
As per the sources, several passengers including children, women and elderly persons, were travelling in the vehicle at the time of the accident.
The people nearby saw the accident and rushed to the bus to rescue passengers and called the ambulance. Medical assistance was provided as soon as possible and the injured were immediately rushed to Sambalpur Sadar Medical College and Hospital for treatment. Their condition is reported to be stable.
On receiving information, police reached the spot and started an investigation into the incident. Traffic movement in the area was briefly affected due to the mishap.
