Bhubaneswar: The regional Centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Bhubaneswar has speculated that the cold wave will intensify from Christmas onwards. The weather predictions also states that dense fog likely to persist over the coming days, impacting visibility, transport services, and daily life.
As Christmas approaches, the regional Met department has warned of a further dip in temperatures. Accordingly, it will be more difficult for people to step out of their houses.
Dense fog has engulfed the state, bringing daily life to a standstill. Roads are deserted, and commuters are struggling to cope with the biting cold.
Residents are bundling up in shawls, suits, scarves, and gloves just to venture out, with some even wearing winter clothes throughout the day. The cold wave is also affecting workers, who are finding it challenging to make it to work on time, especially during early morning hours.
