New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended Olympic medalist Neeraj Chopra, and Himani Mor Chopra’s wedding reception party in Delhi on Sunday. Neeraj Chopra got married to Himani Mor Chopra in a private ceremony in January this year.
Neeraj hosted multiple receptions in December 2025. The Delhi reception party was held on December 27 at ‘ The Leela Hotel’ in Delhi, which was specifically organised for VIPs and other distinguished guests. PM Narendra Modi with many other prominent leaders and renowned personalities, including former President Ram Nath Kovind, were invited.
Both families of Neeraj and Himani were present at all three reception parties.
Many prominent Haryana leaders attended the Karnal reception on 25 December 2025, including Chief Minister Nayab Saini, Assembly Speaker Harwinder Kalyan, Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda, Congress MP Deepender Hooda, former MLA Krishna Poonia, and Haryana Election Commissioner Devendra Kalyan, who were among those present to congratulate the couple.
Neeraj Chopra rose to fame after he won the nation’s first-ever Olympic gold in athletics at Tokyo 2020 (held in 2021) with a javelin throw, and later a silver at Paris 2024, alongside World Championship and Diamond League titles.
‘Neeraj Chopra’ studied at Dayanand Anglo-Vedic (DAV) College, Chandigarh, where he completed his Bachelor’s degree. He balanced his studies with athletics while training as a javelin thrower.
Neeraj’s wife, ‘Himani’ (25), is a tennis player from Sonipat. She holds a master’s degree in Sports Management from Franklin Pierce University in New Hampshire and completed her undergraduate studies in Political Science and Physical Education at Delhi’s Miranda House. Her brother, ‘Himanshu’, is also a tennis player.
There was a huge rush at the reception as guests tried to get autographs and photos with ‘Neeraj’ and ‘Himani’. The special thing was that both of them did not disappoint anyone.
At the reception stage ‘Neeraj Chopra’ was asked to answer several questions by the anchor. He answered them “saying marriage has brought him blessings and support. He remarked that with’ Himani’ by his side, his javelin would go even further, drawing loud applause from the audience”.
Keeping the mood cheerful, ‘Neeraj’ joked about married life, saying there is no throwing of things during fights and that answers about arguments will come only after a few years. He added humorously that he would then do a podcast to share those experiences.
Anchor also asked who apologizes first, ‘Neeraj’ said the one who realises the mistake should say sorry. On getting ready, he laughed that he takes just five minutes, while ‘Himani’ takes a little longer, ending the interaction on a light note.
