Chhatrapur: Unidentified miscreants allegedly looted valuables worth lakhs of rupees from four temples in Odisha’s Chhatrapur on Saturday.
The burglary took place at Shirdi Mandir and Ganesh Mandir at New police colony and Bireswar Mandir and Durga Mandir in Chhatrapur. The burglars broke into the temple and looted silver ornaments.
Items stolen include silver crown of Shirdi Baba and Ganesh idol and also silver necklace of Durga Mandir.
The incident came into light when the priest opened the temple and found the silver ornaments missing. He immediately alerted the police about the same.
The police reached the temple and have started a probe into the matter.
