Puri: Ahead of the new year, tourists and devotees have started to arrive in the holy city of Odisha in a large number. The Jagannath temple specially has become crowded with the influx of lakhs of devotees. In view of the large crowd, the police has made extensive arrangement for public safety.
The police is anticipating the arrival of nearly four lakh visitors during the new year. To maintain law and order, around 60 platoon of police force along with 10 Additional SP, 33 DSP and more than 300 police officials have been deployed in the city.
For peaceful, safe and orderly darshan of Lord Jagannath, police has erected barricades at the entrance of the temple. Special security units have been posted inside and outside of the temple for crowd management.
