Angul: Madhusmita murder case has been busted and the accused has been arrested after one and half months of the crime. CCTV footage finally made it possible to catch the culprit.
The accused has been identified as Tapan Sahu of Barasingha village under Angul Sadar police station limits.
The Nalco police have busted the much-talked-about Madhusmita murder case of Angul district’s NALCO colony after one and a half months.
The murder took place in NALCO colony on December 1st, 2025. Madhusmita Pradhan, wife of NALCO employee Kartik Chandra Pradhan, died under suspicious circumstances. After failing in his love proposal, her jilted lover Tapan Sahu killed her by strangling her with her veil and tried to appear it as robbery.
The murderer was disguised as a plumber. After the murder, he looted the ornaments to make it look like a theft. The accused was caught through Operation Silent Cobra.
The police have recovered earrings and a necklace from her. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) with three teams continued to raid various places to arrest the accused.
