Kolkata: Clash breaks out between TMC and BJP workers

 Kolkata: Clashes broke out between Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers which ended up Makinh Behala area in Kolkata into a battle field.


It is also reportedly said that the stage that was set up for BJP party in the said area yesterday was set on fire and turned into ashes and widespread property was also damaged allegedly by the Trinamool Congress workers.

The incident created a lot of panic in the area as the fire caught quickly and spread all over which created a stampede like situation due to vandalism, arson and a chaotic situation on the streets.

Police reportedly said that BJP workers were peacefully preparing for a rally at Sakherbazar crossing, when the violence broke out as the Trinamool Congress (TMC) alleged BJP for vandalizing their nearby office of TMC Councillor Sudip Polley.

On the other hand, BJP has also accused the TMC party of preplanned attack with an aim to disrupt their event. The saffron party also claimed that many of its workers were injured and vehicles were damaged due to incident.

Investigation into the matter is still underway.
