Dehradun: A MBBS first year student from Doon Medical College, Dehradun alleged that his seniors had beaten him with belts, slippers and forced to trim his hair against his will and made to sleep outside the college premises.
This shocking and terrifying incident came to light after a written complaint was submitted to the college administration and the chief warden on January 13.
The victim reportedly said that those who assaulted him were his two seniors from Batch 2024 and 2025. He also alleged that this behaviour of his seniors were humiliating and coercive.
Later, the anti-ragging committee initiated investigation proceedings and recorded statements of students who were allegedly involved in the ragging and physical abuse of the junior.
The college administration also informed the students that strict actions will be taken against the people who will be found guilty.
As per reports, It is been said that the allegation will be categorized as ragging or personal issue with the student after the investigation is completed.
The complainant’s family has been informed about the incident by the college but the authorities are yet to receive any response.
