Jajpur: Under the Operation Jeevan Raksha, law enforcement agencies in Odisha’s Central Range have stepped up efforts to curb traffic violations and promote road safety across multiple districts.
The initiative was led by the Office of the Inspector General of Police, Central Range, Cuttack, witnessed strict enforcement and awareness drives aimed at reducing road accidents and ensuring responsible driving.
As per the reports, as part of the operation, Puri Police conducted a special evening enforcement drive, registering 33 cases for various violations. These included cases and motorcycles, three incidents of triple riding, and five cases of modified silencers. Additionally, 16 cases of public drinking were booked during the drive.
Meanwhile, Jajpur Police carried out intensive vehicle checking across the district. A total of 304 vehicles were inspected, and Rs 40,500 was collected as fines for multiple traffic rules violations.
Likewise, road safety awareness programs were organized at Dharmasala and Dasarathpur to complement enforcement with education. Motorists were sensitized about the importance of wearing helmets, using seat belts, alert driving, and maintaining traffic discipline.
Officials stated that the campaign aims not only to enforce traffic rules but also to educate the public on safe and responsible road behavior to significantly reduce accident risks.
