Balasore: A woman sustained grevious injuries after a cooking gas cylinder exploded while cooking at Dhatei Sahi of Patrapada area under Sunahata police limits in Balasore district.

As per reports, the woman, nidentified as Sabitri Rout, was cooking on a gas stove on the terrace when the cylinder suddenly exploded, causing severe burns to her upper body. On hearing the screams, neighbours rushed to her help and immediately informed the authorities.
On being informed, the authorities rescued her and initially admitted to Balasore District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) for medical aid. Due to the severity of her burns, she was later transferred to SCB Medical and Hospital, Cuttack.
Later, the police have registered a report and are investigating the cause of the gas cylinder explosion.
