Sonepur: In a shocking incident that has sent the shockwaves through the political circles of Subarnapur district, a senior Youth Congress leader was found dead at his residence late on Tuesday night.
The deceased has been identified as Rajesh Mishra. According to the reports he was found with a fatal gunshot wound at his home located in the Bhagabati Plot area of Sonepur.
According to the preliminary police reports, it is suspected that Mishra died by suicide after allegedly shooting himself with his licensed revolver. Listening to the sound of gunshot family members and neighbours rushed to the spot.
They then called the ambulance and he was taken to the nearby hospital, however he was declared dead on his arrival to the hospital.
After getting information police reached the spot and initiated investigation. However, so far it is not clear under what circumstances the youth died.
He was the treasurer of District Youth Congress.
