Kandhamal - Radhamohan Mahapatra, a prominent young journalist from Kandhamal district, has been conferred the prestigious National Prestige Award 2026 in the category of Best Journalist This national-level honour recognises his remarkable and consistent contribution to journalism over more than 15 years. The award was presented to him at a special ceremony organised by Trade & Media at the Radisson Blu Hotel in New Delhi. Bollywood actor Tushar Kapoor graced the occasion and handed over the award to Radhamohan Mahapatra.
For a long time, Radhamohan has earned wide respect by fearlessly raising voices for the rights and justice of common people through his journalistic work. In addition to journalism, he has made notable contributions in the fields of social service and public welfare. Recently, he was also honoured with the Odisha Yuva Ratna Samman 2026 in recognition of his outstanding work in society and politics. He has been actively involved in highlighting and pursuing several key issues concerning Kandhamal’s overall development, tribal rights, permanent house-site patta (land rights), railway connectivity, and various other public concerns. After receiving this national honour today, Radhamohan expressed heartfelt gratitude to the people of Kandhamal district.
