In Patpadar village under Firingia block, the roof of Sabitri Malik’s house was completely blown away, and household belongings were destroyed. A few generous villagers have extended immediate help to the family. There is an urgent call for the administration to release relief funds without delay.
In the Tikabali block area, many trees were uprooted and electric poles were knocked down. A tree fell directly on the Forest Department’s Forester Office, causing major damage to the building. Asbestos sheets from several houses were also blown away by the strong winds.
Similar destruction due to the Kal Baisakhi storm was reported from various places in Baliguda and Chakapad blocks of the district.
