OUJ State Executive Meeting: Decision to Intensify Journalists' Security Movement

Bhubaneswar (Satyanagar), 22/05: The State Executive Meeting of the Odisha Union of Journalists (OUJ) was held today at the Conference Hall in Satyanagar, Bhubaneswar under the chairmanship of State President Shashi Bhushan Praharaj.
In the meeting, it was decided to further strengthen and systematically intensify the long-standing movement for the professional and social security of journalists across the state. The movement will be made more vigorous from the grassroots level to the state level, and various public welfare programmes will be organised through district committees in every district.
On this occasion, a two-minute silence was observed and tributes were paid to the late Rabindra Pattnaik, the former Ganjam District President of OUJ, who recently passed away.
At the meeting, Sunakar Behera, a senior journalist from Jagatsinghpur district, was unanimously elected as the Eastern Zone Regional Coordinator of the Union.
The meeting was attended by State General Secretary Duryodhan Maharana, State Vice Presidents Deepak Kumar Nayak, Sushant Mahapatra, Ramani Ranjan Das, State Secretary Rajkishore Tripathy, State Treasurer Arun Kumar Sadangi, along with District Presidents, Secretaries and State Executive Members from 22 districts. They actively participated in the discussions.
