Bhubaneswar: A terrifying incident of rash driving and hit-and-drag occurred in the capital city, sending chills down the spine of onlookers. The two occupants inside the car, however, had a narrow escape and survived with minor injuries.
According to reports, a speeding truck collided with a car near Satya Vihar Square and dragged it for nearly 500 meters along the road towards Pahal. The car was helplessly pushed and dragged by the heavy truck before it finally got stuck on a bridge. The truck driver fled the spot immediately after the incident. However, uncle and niece who were travelling in the car had a narrow escape
The eye-witnesses revealed that the truck driver did not stop after the initial collision. Despite people shouting and trying to alert him, the truck continued dragging the car for a long distance. The car eventually got lodged on the bridge, allowing the truck to escape.
Mancheswar Police promptly reached the accident site and launched a chase. The police successfully tracked down and intercepted the truck. The truck driver has been detained and is currently being interrogated.
Further investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the incident and whether the driver was under the influence of alcohol or any other substance.
