Bhubaneswar: One person died and another was critically injured after a speeding truck hit a bamboo-laden bullock cart near Jagannathpur Chhak on Thursday.
As per reports, the accident occurred when the cart was returning from Pratapgiri forest carrying bamboo. A truck rammed into the cart from behind, throwing both occupants off. The two victims, identified as Nath Jena and his brother from Pratapgiri village, were first rushed to Adapada Hospital in critical condition. They were later shifted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur.
However, doctors at MKCG declared Nath Jena dead on arrival. His brother is undergoing treatment and is said to be in critical condition.
