Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department has issued a nowcast warning for nine districts of Odisha, forecasting light to moderate rain accompanied by lightning and thunderstorms.
According to the bulletin issued at 12:50 pm on Thursday, rain with thunderstorm and lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over Bargada, Sambalpur, Kandhamal, Nayagada, Ganjam, Kataka, Anugola, Sundargada and Deogada districts during the next 3 hours.
The weather office has advised residents to stay alert to changing weather conditions and take necessary precautions for their safety.
People have been urged to avoid open spaces and take shelter indoors during thunderstorm and lightning activity.
