Navratri 2025 in Odisha: Devotees flock to Maa Biraja temple in Jajpur as rituals continue flawlessly

 Jajpur: Navratri is being observed with much devotion in Odisha. Devotees were seen flocking to Maa Biraja temple in Jajpur district of Odisha for darshan of the goddess.

According to reports, the rituals for Navratri are being performed at the Birija Kshetra where of Maa Biraja is the presiding deity. During the second day of Navratri, a huge crowd of devotees has gathered to get darshan of Kshetraswari.


It is worth mentioning here that, Maa Biraja Peetha is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas of India. The Navratri puja (9 days of puja rituals) of Maa Biraja has started from yesterday.

During these nine days, devotees get a chance to enter the Sanctum Santorum (garba gruha) of the temple of the Mother Goddess and to get a close darshan of the Mother’s face and touch her feet for blessings. For this, the entire area is in a festive mood. It is believed that by seeing the face of the Goddess during this nine-day puja, one gets the blessings of a thousands births.

Huge number of devotees gather to pull the chariot of Maa Biraja, the ruling deity of Jajpur and to get a clear darshan of the Mother Goddess on the chariot.
