Jharsuguda: In an unfortunate incident, a Nepali youth today died in Odisha’s Jharsuguda while practicing for physical test in view of the upcoming OSAP (Odisha Special Armed Police) Gurkha Sepoy recruitment 2025.
One Govind Kumar along with a group of youths from Nepal had arrived in Jharsuguda in order to take part in the Gurkha Sepoy recruitment process of the OSAP.
As part of practice for physical test of the OSAP Gurkha Sepoy recruitment, they were reportedly practicing at OSAP 2nd Battalion Jharsuguda parade ground. However, Govind collapsed on the field and became senseless.
Soon, he was rushed to the local hospital for treatment, where doctors declared him brought dead due to heart-attack. Later, his family members and police were intimated about his death.
Meanwhile, the unfortunate death of Govind sent a wave of shock and sadness among the local residents and Nepali youths.
As per the notification issued by the Odisha police, the recruitment for the Gurkha Sepoys would be held on September 17 to fill up a total of 135 vacancies in Odisha Special Armed Police 2nd Battalion, Jharsuguda.
Candidates from Nepal and India with an educational qualification of Class-VII pass or equivalent examination can take part in the OSAP Gurkha Sepoy recruitment 2025 and the selection will be done based on their performances in the Physical Test, Viva Voce followed by the Odia Test.
