Bhubaneswar: This morning a cloud covered sky was experienced in Bhubaneswar. The IMD has predicted that the rain in Odisha is likely to continue for three more days.
The Monsoon rains are continuing in the state. Though light rains are seen in several places, the surface wind speed is likely to remain between 30 to 40 kmph. In some places thunderstorms can also be experienced.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a yellow alert to 20 districts for thunderstorms for Tuesday. The Bhubaneswar Regional Meteorological Center has issued a rain alert in various districts of the state till September 19.
The yellow warning has been issued to these districts. Thunderstorm with lightning accompanied with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.
The Vishwakarma Puja is only a day’s time and is expected to remain drenched this year. This day is significant for the traders, craftsmanship, businessmen, artisans, potters, carpenters etc. They pray Lord Vishwakarma and ask for help in improving skills, tools and overall work quality.
