Bhubaneswar: The stray dog census has started in the capital city of Odisha, Bhubaneswar from today. For the first time in the state, the counting of stray dogs has been going on. The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has started the counting of stray dogs that will be done in the 67 wards of BMC till September 25.
As per reports, the counting has started from 5 am today. For this, 410 teams have been formed for each street in different zones and wards.
The counting of stray dogs will be done in two phases. The first phase of the dog counting will be done from September 18 to 21 and the second phase from September 22 to 25.
Under the supervision of qualified veterinary doctors, Swaccha Sathi (sanitary volunteers), sanitary inspectors, SMTAs, DEOs, Cos and ward officers have been engaged in this census.
The counting will provide a picture of the number of stray dogs in the BMC area.
