Bhadrak: Atleast four people sustained injuries as an alleged dispute between two transgender groups in Bhadrak escalated into violence on Tuesday.
The incident took place near Dagarsahi in the Charampa area in the morning hours when members of one transgender group were on their way home after buying vegetables and were allegedly attacked by members of the rival group using sharp weapons.
The injured reportedly suffered wounds on the head, back, ears and other parts of the body.
It is alleged that the violence was linked to earlier issues as, one group was against alleged illegal activities. They have also registered complaint against them at the Bhadrak town police station.
Following the incident, the injured transgenders went to the police station and lodged a complaint against the other group.
The police then sent the injured ones to the Bhadrak District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) for medical aid.
The police officials said the matter is under investigation and statements from the injured have been recorded.
