Bhubaneswar: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former Korei MLA Sanchita Mohanty passed away at her residence in Bhubaneswar on Friday after prolonged illness. She was 67.
She took her last breath at her residence in Bhubaneswar.
She represented the Korei Assembly constituency in Jajpur district from 2004 to 2009. During her tenure as a legislator, she focused on local development initiatives.
She was regarded as one of the party’s prominent leaders and played a key role in strengthening the organisation at the grassroots level during its formative years in the district.
Party sources said senior leaders and workers have expressed grief at her demise.
