Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police is on high alert and have made security extensive arrangement to maintain law and order during the Zero night celebrations on the New year Eve. Police Commissioner Suresh Devdutt Singh reviewed the security arrangements and said that 15 platoons of police force will be deployed for security.
Ahead of the New Year’s Eve celebrations, the police has started checking vehicles for drunk driving at various check posts across the capital city. “Drunk drivers will be kept under control,” Singh warned.
The police force deployed will focus on traffic management, security systems, and standby teams. All police officers have been instructed to monitor their areas closely. The fire brigade has completed its inspection.
The bar and restaurant owners have been instructed to remain present and implement comprehensive security measures on the day of Zero Night celebration. “Drunk drivers will be kept under control,” Singh warned.
The Commissionerate Police is prioritising women’s safety and has instructed organisers to adhere to stipulated time limits for events. The Zero Night celebration has been permitted to continue till 12pm.
