Jaipur: In a shocking incident that has triggered a wave of concern over women’s safety, an 18-year-old class 12 student was allegedly kidnapped and gang-raped inside a moving car in Rajasthan’s Bikaner district. The harrowing incident took place in the Napasar police station area January 6 and the matter came to light only after a formal complaint was lodged by the victim’s family on January 11.
According to the reports, the incident began on the morning of January 6 when the girl was on her way to school. Two unidentified miscreants intercepted her on the road and forcibly pulled her into a car. The perpetrators then drove the vehicle around the Napasar locality for several hours, during which they allegedly took turns raping the student while threatening her into silence.
The victim was eventually saved by some alert local villagers. When the car entered a nearby village, the residents grew suspicious of the vehicle’s movement and intercepted it. Sensing trouble, the accused abandoned the car and the victim, fleeing the spot before the locals could apprehend them. The villagers then rescued the girl and contacted her family members, who rushed to the scene to take her home.
Circle Officer Gangashahar Himanshu Sharma confirmed about the crime to the reporters and informed that a case has been registered under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
While the victim has been identified as a major, the police are still working to determine the identity and age of the two accused individuals.
