Miscreants loot silver crown, cash from 2 temples in Mayurbhanj dist

 Udala: Miscreants looted silver crown and cash from at least two temples in Mayurbhanj district of Odisha yesterday night. The series temple loot took place in the Mani Nageswar Temple and the Gayatri Temple during the cold hours yesterday night in Ward No. 9 of Udala NAC area.

According to the sources, two temples were targeted in the theft – the Mani Nageswar Temple and the Gayatri Temple.



It is reported that at the Mani Nageswar Temple, miscreants broke open the donation box (hundi) and looted cash along with a brass pot of the deity. Since the hundi had not been opened for the last seven years, the exact amount of stolen cash is yet to be determined.

At the Gayatri Temple, the thieves broke the main gate and decamped with the Goddess’s silver crown, silver utensils, and brass items.

In the morning, upon seeing the open hundi and the goddess without the ornaments in both the temples, the locals informed the police.

Upon receiving information, Udala Police reached the spot and initiated an investigation. Efforts are underway to identify and trace out the miscreants involved in the crime.
