Mukhya Mantri Bus Seva Route Dispute: Private bus owners warns to suspend service in Cuttack from January 24

Cuttack: The Odisha Private Bus Owners Association (OPBOA) has called for a halt of services in Cuttack district from January 24 over the Mukhya Mantri Bus Seva.

The crucial meeting involving 18 bus association members of eight districts of the state was held on Saturday, which was chaired by the Odisha Private Bus Owners Association General Secretary Debendra Sahu.

He informed that if the government does not stop the Mukhya Mantri Bus Seva service from the Panchayat to district headquaters till January 23 they will stop the operation of private buses across the district from January 24.

Meanwhile, the Jagatsinghpur District Bus Owners’ Association has been observing strike in Jagatsinghpur district for the past few days over the Mukhya Mantri Bus Seva routes.

No private buses operated across the district, leaving commuters stranded and struggling to reach their destinations.

The strike was called over growing dissatisfaction among private bus operators over the expansion of the Mukhya Mantri Bus Seva routes. According to bus owners, the service was earlier limited to routes connecting panchayats with block headquarters. However, it is now operating up to the district headquarters and also running on other major routes.
