Odisha Govt Notifies Formation Of 28 New NACs, Seven New Municipalities

 Bhubaneswar: Odisha Government issues notification for 7 new municipalities and 28 new NACs. All BDOs have been transferred as administrative officers for the new NACs. 6 crores have been approved for new offices of all NCs, 50 lakhs for roads, and 50 lakhs for lights.

Funds have also been given for 7 municipalities upgraded from NACs. 1.5 crores each have been approved by the Odisha Government for various works like sanitation work and lighting. Puri has been granted the status of a municipal corporation. With this, Puri becomes the sixth Municipal Corporation in Odisha. The aim is to make Puri an international city. The city has grown by merging various nearby areas. PKDA will be expanded, TP scheme will be implemented.


A multi-purpose market complex will be built. Puri, Cuttack, and Paradip will be an economic region. Greater Bhubaneswar has been planned by the State Government. 26 revenue villages, 7 panchayats will be merged with Bhubaneswar.

The Urban Development Minister has informed that 26 villages, like Sijua, Sijiput, Sahajpur, Bijipur, Tamando, Begunia, Sishupalgarh, Kesura, Bankual, ​​Raghunathpur, Lingipur, Chunkoli, and several other villages, will be merged into the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation.
