New Delhi: A shocking incident took place in Delhi metro in which a US woman was allegedly groped by a Delhi teen after demanding a selfie with her.
This incident came to light when Gaurav Sabnis, an Indian-origin professor at New Jersey’s Stevens Institute of Technology, shared a note on X, sharing her ordeal in Delhi metro.
The professor shared a written note sent to him by the US woman. In the note the woman revealed that she was sexually harassed on the Delhi metro by a native teenager while her mother and sister defended his actions saying he has never seen a blonde before and got carried away.
Apart from this she was also asked to pose for selfies by several natives of India throughout her trip. She refused to take selfie with the males but agreed for women and children sometimes.
Gaurav Sabnis on his X handle has uploaded the note sent by his former student along with a caption that reads, “When this former student called me in November for suggestions for her India trip for a friend’s wedding, I told her, be on guard for sexual harassment. Especially in Delhi. Here, you’re just another blond. There, you’ll be a target. Sadly, came true.”
