Phulbani, : A massive Hindu Sammilani (convention) was successfully organized in Shastri Basti, located between Dadhibaman Temple at Madikunda Chhak and Rameshwar Temple at Nadikhandi Sahi in Phulbani town. The event saw the enthusiastic participation of more than one thousand Hindu devotees.
The program was held at Shastri Nagar Kalyan Mandap in Pionpada area, where devotees gathered in large numbers. The Sammilani began with a traditional Yajna followed by the collective recitation of Hanuman Chalisa. This was followed by in-depth discussions on the rise and fall of Hindu Dharma, its scriptures, and the current challenges faced by Hindus.
Speakers highlighted the increasing threats to Hindu Dharma and its followers at local, state, national, and global levels. While many non-Hindu individuals and even governments in various countries around the world are showing growing attraction and respect towards Hindu Dharma, speakers emphasized that Hindus in India — the only Hindu-majority nation in the world — must remain vigilant, awakened to their own faith, and dutifully fulfill their responsibilities towards preserving and strengthening Sanatan Dharma.
The chief guest on the occasion was retired First-Class Police Officer, noted litterateur, and social worker Shri Navakishore Panda, a resident of Phulbani. Honored guests included:
- Shri Dasharathi Behera, an ideal teacher, social worker, and reformer who has been tirelessly working to make Advaita Vedanta philosophy accessible in simple language to villagers of Purapalli and residents of Phulbani town.
- Shri Pitambar Mishra, retired District Treasury employee and President of Phulbani District Brahmin Samaj.
- Shri Gobinda Chandra Nayak, retired Cooperative Department employee, Nagar Sangh Chalak of Phulbani, and a well-known young social worker.
The keynote address was delivered by Shri Arun Nayak, Vibhag Sangh Chalak of the Gangam Division of the Sangh. He spoke in detail about five key nationwide campaigns currently being run by the organization — including environmental protection — and explained their practical applications and importance.
Approximately one thousand devotees attended the Sammilani, participated actively in the proceedings, and partook of Prasadam from the Anna Yajna, reaffirming their commitment to the service and protection of Hindu Dharma.
The event has infused fresh energy and unity among the local Hindu community in Phulbani.
