Bargarh: Dhanu Yatra, considered the largest open air theatre of Asia, has been concluded its 11-day journey in western Odisha town of Bargarh yesterday.

The 11-day Dhanuyatra has been began on December 24, 2025 concluded with the death of demon King Kansa at the hands of Lord Krishna and coronation of Ugrasen here on Saturday, that is January 3, 2026.
Notably, the Dhanu Yatra is held every year from Pausa Shukla Panchami to Pausa Purnima with great pomp and show, grace and grandeur. During the event which started 70 years back on January 12, 1948 and has turned to be a distinguished festival with the passing of the time, the Bargarh town is treated as ‘Mathura’, the Zeera river as ‘Yamuna’ and Ambapali village on the other side of the river as ‘Gopapura’.
