Nayagarh: The Forest Department personnel halted the traffic movements on the Nakithana and Jankia road in the Ranapur forest range due to the appearance of a elephant in the area.
According to sources, a tusker has been wreaking havoc and destroying fields in the villages under the Ranapur range. The Forest Department had installed cameras in the area to track the movements of the elephant. On Sunday morning, the forest department spotted the elephant on the Nakithana Jankia road and stopped the taffic movement on the road for safety purpose.
The forest department personnel are trying to chase the elephant into the forest and clear the road.
