Phulbani, March 24 : The Civil Services Coaching Centre established in August 2023 at the HRDC building adjacent to the District e-Library in Kandhamal district is emerging as a beacon of hope for local youth. The centre, run with financial support from Odisha Mining Corporation and managed by the Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA), Phulbani, received a special visit from District Collector Vedabhusan on Monday evening.
During the visit, the Collector personally took a class for the students, focusing on preparation strategies for the upcoming Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and Odisha Administrative Service (OAS) examinations. He laid special emphasis on test series, continuous practice, and smart preparation techniques. Sharing his own experiences from the civil services examination, he guided the students on correcting personal mistakes and provided simple, clear solutions to their queries.
Since assuming charge, District Collector Vedabhusan has been giving special attention to the e-Library and the Civil Services Coaching Centre. He frequently visits the centre himself and also brings senior officials visiting the district to interact with the students and deliver motivational classes.
Several other officers are also voluntarily contributing their time to teach at the coaching centre. These include Baliguda Sub-Collector Ms. Pranita Das, ITDA Project Administrator Gadadhar Patra, Khajuripada Block Development Officer Subh Dattatreya Bahinipati, and Phulbani Agriculture Department Statistics Assistant Deepak Ranjan Padhi. They are actively encouraging and guiding the young aspirants in their spare time.
ITDA Project Administrator Gadadhar Patra said that in the coming days, more facilities will be provided to the students along with focused career counselling and mentorship programmes.
Shiba Sundar Sahu, who is in charge of managing the e-Library and Coaching Centre, said that the innovative initiatives and regular visits by the district administration have attracted many students to the library and coaching centre, significantly improving the success rate.
The personal involvement of the District Collector and other officers is generating tremendous enthusiasm among the youth and raising hopes of producing more successful civil service candidates from Kandhamal in the near future.
