Anlajodi ( REPORT BY BAPI SAN )– The 29th Annual Function of Anlajodi High School in Kanas block of Puri district was held with great enthusiasm and splendour on Friday evening at 7 PM in the school premises. The programme was presided over by the Headmaster Sri Dilip Rana. Sri Gobardhan Behera, Additional Block Education Officer (ABEO) of Kanas, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while Sri Sruti Ranjan Das delivered the address as the Chief Speaker. The programme was efficiently anchored by Basant Kumar Sahu.
The event was attended by a large gathering of students, teachers, parents, and local dignitaries, turning the evening into a memorable celebration of education, culture, and achievement.
The programme commenced with the National Anthem, followed by a warm welcome address by Headmaster Sri Dilip Rana. In his speech, he highlighted the school’s journey over the past 29 years and its significant contribution to shaping the lives of thousands of students in the region. “This annual function is not just a ritual of remembrance, but a source of inspiration for the future. Our school has been a beacon of light for the students of Anlajodi and surrounding areas,” he said.
Thereafter, Sri Bimbadhar Nayak presented the Annual Report of the school. In his detailed report, he outlined the academic achievements, sports accomplishments, and various developmental activities carried out during the year. He informed the audience that the school had recorded excellent results in the previous board examinations and that students had brought laurels to the institution in several district-level competitions.
Chief Guest Sri Gobardhan Behera, in his motivating speech, emphasised the importance of education in building a strong society. “Education is the foundation of life. Today’s students are the pillars of tomorrow’s society. The efforts of the school authorities in organising such programmes and supporting students are highly commendable,” he remarked.
Chief Speaker Sri Smruti Ranjan Das inspired the students with his eloquent address, stressing the values of patriotism, discipline, moral education, and the holistic development of personality through both academics and co-curricular activities.

The cycles were handed over by the Chief Guest and other dignitaries amid loud applause and visible joy on the faces of the recipients. The students expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the school and the guests for this thoughtful support, which will greatly help them in their daily commute.
The second half of the programme was dedicated to cultural performances by the students. A variety of items including dance, songs, skits, and mono-acts enthralled the audience. The Odishi dance presented by the girl students and the group songs by the boys received special appreciation. The energetic and talented performances brought out the hidden artistic abilities of the young learners and added colour and vibrancy to the occasion.
The smooth conduct of the entire programme was made possible by the dedicated efforts of the assistant teachers: Smt. Tilattama Nayak, Sri Sukant Kumar Jena, Sri Jitendra Kumar Das, Smt. Namita Sahu, Smt. Laxmipriya Swain, and Smt. Swagatika Mohanty. Their tireless coordination and hard work were widely acknowledged.
