Baliguda, Kandhamal: In yet another major success in its anti-narcotics drive, Baliguda Police seized 81 kg of ganja and intercepted a Scorpio vehicle, arresting two smugglers from Nayagarh district.
Acting on reliable intelligence, Baliguda Police conducted a patrol and intercepted the vehicle carrying contraband. The accused have been identified as Lokanath Raut (34) and Deba Prasad Swain (37), residents of Dandashasi area under Fategarh Police Station in Nayagarh district.
The police seized the ganja along with the vehicle bearing registration number OD-02-BF-0258 used for transporting the illegal substance.
A case has been registered at Baliguda Police Station vide Case No. 115/26 under Section 20(b)(ii)(C) of the NDPS Act. Both the accused have been forwarded to court.
Speaking on the matter, Baliguda Police Station Officer Shiv Shankar Singh said that investigation into the case is continuing.
