Baliguda, Kandhamal: The Baliguda Forest Department has arrested two poachers and seized two country-made guns during a night patrol in the Dhaka jungle area.
According to forest officials, staff of the Baliguda Forest Range were conducting a routine night patrol when they spotted two youths lighting a fire in the jungle to attract wild animals for hunting. The forest team immediately raided the spot and apprehended the duo.
The arrested persons have been identified as Suila Malik (28) and Lakshman Kahar (28). Two country-made guns along with other hunting materials were seized from their possession.
Baliguda Forest Range Officer D. Subash informed that a case has been registered vide Baliguda Forest Case No. 17/26 and the accused have been forwarded to SDJM Court.
Forest personnel involved in the successful operation included Forester Tikeshwar Behera, Guards Suresh Muthamajhi, Yudhisthir Digal, and Nasimul Haque.
