New Delhi: A major militant attack targeted the Pakistan Rangers headquarters in Karachi’s Gulistan-i-Jauhar area on Saturday, when an explosives-laden vehicle rammed into the facility, followed by heavy gunfire.
The entire group of attackers was killed before they could further disrupt life there.
Pakistani security forces responded swiftly, leading to an intense exchange of fire.
Officials said four Sindh Rangers personnel were killed, while six terrorists were shot dead and one was captured alive during the operation.
Special units, including the Rapid Response Force, police commandos, and anti-terror teams, were deployed to secure the area.
Authorities later cordoned off the site and launched an investigation into the attack.
The extremist group Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, a splinter faction linked to the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), has claimed responsibility for the assault.
