Bhubaneswar: The Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar has issued an orange warning for heavy rainfall for six districts in Odisha for Thursday. The orange warning has been issued for the districts of Balasore, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Nabarangapur, Raygada, and Malamangiri.
According to the weather forecast by the met centre, heavy rainfall along with thunder, lightning, and strong wind will be witnessed in some isolated places of these districts.These districts are likely to experience intense downpours alongside wind speed reaching between 40 and 50 km per hour.
Following the complete advancement of the south-west monsoon across Odisha, turbulent weather and continuous rain were reported across various regions.
Meanwhile, Odisha has recorded deficit rain in June 2026. According to reports, the state has received 47% less rainfall than expected this June with only 81.3 milliliter of rain instead of the required 154.6 milliliter downpour.
