Nayagarh: A shocking incident of alleged violence inside a Primary Agricultural Cooperative Society (PACS) office has come to light from Chahali Panchayat under Nuagaon block in Nayagarh district, where the president of the Raipur PACS allegedly assaulted the society’s secretary and vice president with a bamboo stick.
According to reports, PACS President Premananda Behera allegedly attacked Secretary Madan Mohan Pradhan and Vice President Gayatri Pradhan inside the PACS office. The assault was reportedly carried out in a life-threatening manner, leaving both victims injured.
The incident was captured on the office’s CCTV cameras, and the footage has since gone viral on social media. The video purportedly shows Behera repeatedly striking the secretary and vice president with a bamboo stick inside the office premises.
Following the incident, both injured officials lodged complaints with Nayagarh Sadar Police Station. Based on the complaints, police have registered an FIR against Premananda Behera and initiated an investigation into the matter.
The motive behind the alleged assault was not immediately known. Police are examining the CCTV footage and gathering further evidence as part of the probe.
The incident has sparked concern among local residents and members of the cooperative sector, who have demanded strict action against those responsible. Authorities are expected to take further steps based on the findings of the investigation.
