Raigarh Livestock Inspector nabbed while taking bribe Rs 80,000

 Nabarangpur: Odisha Vigilance apprehended Prafulla Haldar, the Livestock Inspector of Raighar under the Chief District Veterinary Officer (CDVO) in Nabarangpur district, while demanding and taking a bribe.

The Livestock Inspector was nabbed while taking a bribe of Rs. 80,000 from a beneficiary in lieu of relase of subsidy amount under the State’s Mukhyamantri Kamadhenu Yojana. The scheme supports dairy farmers and assists in establishing dairy units ranging from 1 to 5 cows. As per the guideline of the scheme, the dairy farmer had been selected as a beneficiary.


Accused LI Haldar demanded bribe Rs 80,000 from the beneficiary in lieu of relase of subsidy amount and threatened to block the subsidy amount of his and other beneficiaries from his village, if the bribe was not paid.

Finding no other means, the beneficiary (Complainant) approached the vigilance authorities. Following this, today, a team of Odisha Vigilance nabbed Haldar, while taking bribe Rs 80,000 from the complt.

The entire bribe money Rs 80,000 has been recovered from the possession of Haldar and seized.

Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations linked to Haldar, LI from Disproportionate Assets (DA) angle.

Besides, simultaneous searches have been launched at locations linked to him. During searches, a cash of Rs 8.24 Lakh was unearthed so far from his residential house at Raigarh and seized.

In this connection, Koraput Vigilance P.S. Case No. 13/2026 U/s7 P.C (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered. Investigation of the case is in progress. Detailed report follows.
