Bhubaneswar: The Odisha State Election Commission (SEC) has set the ball rolling for the 2027 Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRI) and Urban Local Bodies (ULB) elections by convening a high-level review meeting with all District Collectors and Magistrates on July 21.
According to an official communication issued by the OSD-cum-Secretary to the SEC on July 6, the meeting will be held through video conferencing on the OSWAN platform from 11.30 am under the chairmanship of the State Election Commissioner.
The meeting will primarily review the progress of the ongoing door-to-door survey being conducted for the preparation of booth-wise electoral rolls for the 2027 PRI and ULB elections. District administrations will also present the status of pending Detailed Contingent (DC) Bills and Utilisation Certificates (UCs) relating to the 2022 General Elections to Urban Local Bodies.
The Commission will further assess compliance with decisions taken during previous review meetings and discuss follow-up measures to ensure timely completion of election-related activities.
The SEC has directed Additional District Magistrates serving as ULB Nodal Officers, Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs), and other concerned officials to participate in the meeting from their respective district OSWAN centres.
The review is part of the Commission’s early preparations to streamline electoral roll management, strengthen administrative readiness, and ensure timely execution of tasks ahead of the 2027 local body elections in Odisha.
