Konark: Nagaland Governor Nandakishore Yadav on Sunday visited the world-famous Konark Sun Temple after offering prayers at the Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri.
Yadav spent around 45 minutes at the UNESCO World Heritage Site, where he admired the temple’s intricate stone carvings, architectural excellence and exquisite sculptures.
A local government guide briefed the Governor about the history of Konark, the grandeur of the Sun Temple and its distinctive craftsmanship. Yadav closely observed the artistic carvings on the temple walls and expressed his appreciation for the architectural splendour of the monument.
In view of the Governor’s visit, elaborate security arrangements were put in place in Konark. A platoon of police personnel was deployed, while Nimapada SDPO, Gop BDO, the Konark police station officer-in-charge, two ASIs and 10 constables were assigned security duties.
The Governor was accorded a warm welcome by the temple and local administrations during his visit. After completing his tour of the heritage site, Yadav proceeded towards Puri.
